It’s April, and it’s still going down at Palisades Tahoe.

The resort got a powder refresh this week, prompting locals to tackle the titular Palisades, a looming headwall stuffed full of tough lines.

On hand were pro skiers Ross Tester and Jay Rawe, who both put down blistering runs. Tester even pitched over the edge wearing a t-shirt because, you know, it’s supposed to be spring.

Check out his 360 below.

In the Instagram-inundated ski landscape of 2026, it’s easy for clips like this to make a big splash and disappear. So we thought we’d pause on it for just a second and explain, to the best of our knowledge, why it’s gnarly.

Obviously, hucking a 360 off a cliff isn't easy—that isn’t rocket science. But look at the tricky angle of the takeoff, and how little time Tester had to prepare. He's mid turn. Then, he's in the air. This is about as far as you can get from a nicely prepared terrain park jump, making the relatively simple 360 infinitely harder to do.

That’s Tester’s thing, though. As a longtime presence on the Freeride World Tour, he spins in all kinds of harebrained places. Off cliffs, into tiny chutes, above no-fall zones—you name it.

Then, there’s Rawe. He stepped up to the Tube, a narrow rock hallway with zero room for error. Tap or click below to watch.

"The Palisades went OFF today! Pulled up to like 30+ people already on top after yesterday’s fresh dump…had to get up there and see what looked good," Rawe wrote in the caption to his post. "So many of the homies sending the most wild lines for the coverage we had."

The stunt marks another big move for the sit skier. Earlier this season, at the Swatch Nines, Rawe launched a flair and landed an NBD. He also landed a cork 360 to 50-50 in 2025, which looked as cool as it sounds.

All in all, it’s refreshing to watch skiers making the most of this season. It’s been tough out West, sure, but April always has promise. And this year, that potential came to fruition.

For the Californian readers tuning in, both Palisades Tahoe and Mammoth Mountain remain open. Neither has locked in a closing date yet, so there’s still time to get after it.

We plan to leave the hucking to the professionals like Rawe and Tester, though.
