Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni was delighted to wear the captain's armband for their Champions League win at RB Salzburg.

Bastoni stood in for skipper Lautaro Martinez, who came off the bench to score the winner from the spot in the second-half.

The defender said, "I am really happy, it is an incredible honour to wear the armband that has been worn by many champions. We are delighted to have won the qualification two rounds in advance.

"In the first half, Salzburg put us in great difficulty, but the team responded well. In the second half we went up a level and we won the game."

On Lautaro, he added: "We are very happy, he is our captain and point of reference. It doesn't matter who plays, it only counts to win. We are all happy, we want to continue like this."
