The Chicago Fire signed 2024 MLS NEXT Pro MVP David Poreba to a first-team contract on Wednesday. The deal with the 22-year-old midfielder runs through 2025 with club options for 2026 through 2028.

The Chicago Fire have started to build their roster for the 2025 MLS season, and they’ve brought a familiar goal-scorer into the first-team fold. Chicago has signed 2024 MLS Next Pro MVP David Poreba to a first-team deal ahead of the 2025 season, sources have confirmed to On Tap Sports Net after the news was first reported by Manuel Veth.

Chicago Fire II’s David Poreba continued to add to his trophy case this week as he was named MLS Next Pro’s Most Valuable Player for the 2024 season. Poreba, 21, won the league’s Golden Boot earlier this month after finishing the MLS Next Pro campaign with 18 goals.
