The LA Galaxy, one of Major League Soccer’s (MLS) most iconic franchises, faced a dark period during the 2023 season, resulting in a failure to qualify for the playoffs and leaving fans and players disappointed.
With 12 games left in the MLS season, the LA Galaxy is making moves to stay in contention for the MLS Cup playoffs. As expected, the club announced Thursday it signed 34-year-old center back Maya Yoshida to a one-and-a-half-year contract through the end of the 2024 MLS season.
LA Galaxy is finalizing a deal to sign Japanese center back Maya Yoshida. Yoshida, 34, was a stalwart in the Japanese National Team for the last decade, making 126 appearances from 2010 until his retirement from international play last year.
