Each day MTRphilly.com will be breaking down the players on the Philadelphia Phillies 40 man roster and their non roster invitees. Today we will discuss new acquisition Michael Young. Summary:  Michael Young has been a solid major leaguer in his 13 years in the bigs. He is a career .301 hitter, a former batting champion, and 7 time All Star. Young took a bit of a step back in 2012 when he hit just .277 with only 8 homeruns. He also had the fewest walks (33) in a full season and lowest OPS (.682) of his career. Scouting Report:  Former All Star that can hit for average with some power Has lost a step in the field and played 72 games as a DH in 2012. Has lost some bat speed as he has aged.
