We are finally getting some clarification on KG's situation and even though we heard it from the horse's mouth, there are still conflicting reports. First we get the news from Doc that there are no restrictions on KG and that he has been playing 5 on 5 for a few days. The Globe has this from KG: "No surprises, other than the severity of the injury," said Garnett...

Celtics just put out the update.Doc says meniscus tear for Bill Walker and he'll have surgery within a week. Expected out at least 6-8 weeks.I wonder what that means for him staying on the team?

After practice Wednesday, Kevin Garnett addressed the media, answering specific questions about his knee. As you may remember, KG missed much of the second half last season and the entire playoffs due to bone spurs in his knee.

Bill Walker left Wednesday’s practice with an injured knee, and an MRI revelead a torn meniscus, which will require Walker to miss six to eight weeks. The Celtics will be forced to carry the injured Walker on their active roster to start the season.

The Boston Celtics announced today that forward Bill Walker underwent successful right knee arthroscopic surgery today at the New England Baptist Hospital.
Walker sustained a meniscus tear on the first day of training camp.
Surgery was performed by Team Physician Dr. Brian McKeon and assisted by John Rand, PAC. No timetable has been set for his return.
