The Celtics know how to throw a home-opener party, as they crushed Charlotte tonight, 92-59. And it could've been worse, had the Celtics hit even half of their wide-open shots in the first half. From the get-go, as KG did his pregame "thing", it was apparent that it was going to be a blowout. Charlotte got it to as close as three points in the 2nd quarter, but the game never really felt that close. And, opening up the 2nd half on a 20-0 run didn't hurt either. Although it was only the Bobcats, the Celtics looked damn good tonight. Even when they were missing shots, they were wide open shots that just didn't fall. Friday is a stiffer test, as the Bulls come to town. Doc and Pierce/KG pressers follow: What did we learn tonight?:- Tommy doesn't like Tyson Chandler, referring to his need to take an IQ test,  and how he should've gone to college so he could count to three (after getting called for "3-seconds")- Every time KG slips and/or falls, the media is going to be asking "the question", which is going to get annoying, if it hasn't already - The Celtics are now in the record books as being the team to hold Charlotte to it's lowest ever points scored in a game - The Celtics are 2-0, but have yet to put together a complete game, even with the 33-point victory.- Ray Allen's shot isa thing of beauty, even if it doesn't go in (he only shot 6-17 tonight)- The C's may have something in Shelden Williams, as he's looked pretty good through games 1 and 2- The Celtics should re-sign Rondo; he's the engine that should be driving this team for the next 5+ seasons.- Pierce and KG both played less than 26 minutes, and Ray under 40- Rajon Rondo is the first Tommy Award winner of the season- Kendrick Perkins is going to be very well-known around the league this season The Box Score is next: PlayerMinsFGM/A3FM/AFTM/AOREBDREBT-REBASTPFSTLTOBSBAPTS34Pierce, Paul24:434-93-54-4033440001155Garnett, Kevin25:535-90-00-03471111301043Perkins, Kendrick26:144-100-01-1257120340920Allen, Ray38:016-174-102-3112212201189Rondo, Rajon29:535-60-00-00331123100107Daniels, Marquis21:501-50-10-0112441101230Wallace, Rasheed15:423-83-80-0055010100913Williams, Shelden22:072-30-08-113693512101250House, Eddie18:073-71-40-002211000074Giddens, J.R.07:540-10-10-0033011000026Hudson, Lester09:360-10-00-0011101101044Scalabrine, BrianDNPTOTALS:-33-7611-2915-19103444282210148492PERCENTAGES43.4%37.9%78.9%TEAM REBOUNDS: 6TOTAL TURNOVERS: 14-

Toyed With & Humiliated

The Celtics outplayed and outclassed the Charlotte Bobcats, 92-59 in their home opener at the Garden.Leading by 11 at the half, the Celtics blew the game open by scoring the first 16 points of the 3rd quarter.
