The Phillies Don't Go to 11.   W - Zambrano, (7-4), "working" from home and watching afternoon Cubs games, ending someone else's winning streak. L - Moyer, (9-7), making the same reference to the same movie that everyone else always makes. S - Gregg, (19) Box Score, Photos Things to Take from This Game   1. A Balanced Attack Seven different Cubs had RBI today, without benefit of a home run.  Bradley, Soriano and Ramirez all had two-hit games, Theriot had both 3 hits and stolen bases.  Perhaps most interesting, Bradley's five ABs were with a runner in scoring position; he went 2-4 with a walk and an RBI. None of the hits were rockets, but I'll take it.   2. Well-pitched early... Moyer had the Cubs fooled for the first three innings, and Z pitched well through the first five.  ...

Phillies Rumors: Phillies looking at Willingham, Spilborghs

All the trade rumor talk has focused on Roy Halladay, and rightly so, but the Phillies are also unconvinced that John Mayberry Jr. can be an effective bat off the bench and are looking at both the Nationals Josh Willingham and the Rockies Ryan Spilborghs, according to several media outlets. Either would be a great pick-up in my opinion. They could spell both Werth and Ibanez, and...

Jim Hendry Deserves Another Chance

Sometimes you need to shake up a roster. Six consecutive playoff losses in two years might warrant such a move. However, when you tinker with your team, you should try to avoid making poor baseball decisions. Jim Hendry must have forgot this fact last offseason. Hendry decided to sell high on former Cubs' super-utilityman Mark Derosa. I didn't and still dont agree with this...

San Diego Padres (37-58) at Philadelphia Phillies (53-39), 7:05 p.m.

After having their longest winning streak in 18 years halted yesterday, there is probably no better team for the Philadelphia Phillies to rebound against than tonight's opponent.
