My mom is still depressed about this. Haha. Church was her favorite player. I think she has a secret crush on him.

New York Mets trade Ryan Church to braves for Jeff Francoeur
BY M.A. MEHTA NEW YORK - Admitting he needed to "shake it up," Mets general manager traded outfielder Ryan Church and cash consideration to the Atlanta Braves for outfielder Jeff Francoeur Friday. Francoeur, 25, hit .250 with 5 HR and...
Jeff Francouer, yeah that makes sense! (right?!?)
Wrong. The trade makes sense on one level. Jeff Francouer has a higher ceiling than Ryan Church. That is undeniable and a good thing to shoot for in a season where it may be time to start being sellers and work towards next season. To look at some of the reasons Francouer doesn’t make sense, [...]
NL Notes: Mets, Braves make a deal
Mets, Braves make a deal The slumping Mets have traded OF Ryan Church to the Braves for OF Jeff Francoeur. The injury-ravaged Mets are trying to avoid falling further back in the NL East race. Church is hitting .280 with two home runs and 22 RBIs. Francoeur is hitting .250 with five homers and 35 RBIs.
The Dugout: The Most Even Trade Ever
by Jon BoisFiled under: Braves, Mets, NL East, The Dugout, MLB Trade Deadline
As we reported on Friday, the Braves traded an under-performing outfielder, Jeff Francoeur, to the Mets for an under-performing outfielder, Ryan Church. My theory? The general managers were just bored. Saturday's Dugout is after the jump. The Dugout: The Most Even Trade Ever originally appeared on Fanhouse...
Lastings Milledge's Successor Moves On from the Mets
(by Mike Henderson) Ryan Church now bears the tomahawk. What are the implications for the Mets and Braves?
Harper: Minaya's lateral move is only move
Omar Minaya had to find a way to sell some sort of hope to his team as well as his fan base as the Mets' season collapses around him, and that's what he has done here, trading Ryan Church to the Braves for Jeff Francoeur.
Jeff Francoeur For Ryan Church. Why?
The Mets traded Ryan Church to the Braves for Jeff Francoeur. Hopefully this isn’t what the Braves needed to take the division, but I’m more concerned about Jeff. He’s hitting .250, which is more than he hit last year, and has five home runs.
Presumably it was power and defense that attracted Omar to Francoeur. He does have a good arm. I don’t know...
Breaking News: Braves Trade Jeff Francoeur to the Mets for Ryan Church
A trade that was just announced: The New York Mets have traded right fielder Ryan Church to the Atlanta Braves for struggling right fielder Jeff Francoeur.
I'd have to say the Braves win this trade, as they get a good young hitter in Church.
This is the second outfielder the Braves have acquired, the first being Nate McLouth.
So far this season, Church is hitting .280 with two...
Ryan Church-Jeff Francoeur: Who Won the Swap?
In a move that truly surprised me, the Atlanta Braves traded Jeff "Golden Boy" Francoeur to the New York Mets for Ryan Church.
From all I can gather, the two are a wash on defense.
Francoeur has the better arm, but Church has the better range.
The issue lies with the bat.
Is Church an upgrade at all? Or is he going stick his left-handed bat in the lineup and stink up...
Evans shuffles off to Buffalo
Nick Evans, who staved off a demotion to Triple-A Buffalo when Angel Pagan was activated from the DL on Friday because Ryan Church was traded, joined the Bisons Saturday with Jeff Francoeur's arrival.
Rockies becoming more picky in trade talk
DENVER — An outfielder was traded at Coors Field today. And it was a right fielder. But it wasn’t Ryan Spilborghs. The Braves gave up on hometown kid Jeff Francoeur, shipping him to the rival Mets for outfielder Ryan Church. Atlanta has been looking to unload Frenchy for weeks, tired of his impatience and inability [...]
