Orlando Magic guard Vince Carter scored 16 points before leaving the game after stepping on the foot of New Jersey Nets guard Devin Harris in the Magic’s 95-85 win. Carter appeared to sprain his left ankle and there is no word yet on the severity of the injury.

Rashard Lewis predicted before the game that he'd enjoy no part of the Orlando Magic's season opener. Lewis sat out because he's serving a 10-game suspension for testing positive for an elevated testosterone level, and league rules prevented him from being inside Amway Arena and watching the game in-person.
