Chris Paul is pretty much regarded as the best point guard in the league. Rajon Rondo, however, doesn't seem to be impressed. At least... if you believe SI's Chris Mannix
Whoa... since when is Kendrick Perkins the "mouth off to the reporter" guy? And we're tweaking one of the best players in the league? HornetsHype sums it up nicely:
What else can I say but... bingo.
The Celtics defense is good. Damn good. But you don't need to give one of the best any added motivation.
But then again... it's gonna set up one hell of a battle between Rondo and Paul. We might have one of those "neither guy can stop the other" type battles brewing... which will at least make for an exciting game.
Oh, and Chris Mannix? I'd tread lightly the next time you come across Kendrick Perkins... unless you're absolutely sure he was cool with you tweeting that. Yeah, maybe Perk needs a refresher on what "off the record" means... but that sounds so far out of Perk's character, I find it hard to believe he was telling you that in a "go ahead and print it" kind of way.

You can't compare the other because each team needs diffferent. What the C's are able to accomplish with RR being the "captain" on the floor, CP3 would not be able to do. He's kinda shoot first point.
What CP3 does the hornets, RR would not be able to do...
I don't think RR is only good because he works with Ray, KG, and PP. The only thing that helps RR in his stats bcuz of the Big 3, are his assists. But his points, rebounds, etc have nothing to do with them. If your talking about teaching, mentoring, and coaching being what gives RR an edge for playing with the Big 3, then fine.
His work and talent gets over shadowed and no one sees how much of an impact his play calling, and decisions make the outcome of the game. If I remember correctly, there have been multiple days where the Big 3 were healthy, and RR was out with an ankle problem, and the C's had trouble.
People like to say that we run with the Big 3, but to me, we run with RR and when he chooses to play with intensity or not.
If I wasn't in class right now, I could have found multiple quotes from Doc, Ainge, PP, KG, Ray, and other sports analysts telling you that the C's depend on RR and the way he plays.
I do think CP3 is really good, and has an edge on RR because he can score up to 30+ pts, and hes quick, and just THAT good, but you need to remember they are TOTALLY different points. RR doesnt need to score for the C's to win. CP3 needs to. As you can see, he puts up 20+ in two games and they still lose.
RR has an edge on D, which to me, and a lot of people who have seen us in the 07-08 season, D is more important than offense.
On paper, CP3 DEF is the better point. But when you watch them play against each other, they're pretty equal, all their "edges" they have on the other covers up for what they are missing. They are diff points, and contribute to their teams differently.

CP3 doesn't have that many players who are lethal when it comes to scoring, so he may shoot first...
But oh well im done trying to explain this...
Comparing the two is not easy or is pointless bcuz they are two diff pg's on two diff teams, and contribute two diff ways... One or the other would not do well on the other's team...
