October 18, 2006: It was a beautiful Fall day; still warm. The weather hadn't changed for the worse yet. I took lunch about 2:00 in the afternoon, and my wife called me. She wanted me to call Rob. Rob is a friend who lives not too far from us on Long Island, but works in NYC. I asked her why, and she said to give him a call. I didn't have Rob's work phone number, but my wife had gotten it from Rob's wife. I gave Rob a call when I returned from lunch. He asked what I was up to, and we went through the usual complaints about work and how hectic things were. He asked if I was busy “tonight”, and I didn't think I was, and asked “why?” Rob, a Yankee fan, tweaked me a little bit; “I don't know if you're interested, but I have an extra ticket to tonight's Mets game.
