Alabama will get its shot at BCS history. For the first time since Ohio State made back-to-back trips to the BCS National Championship Game in 2007 and 2008, we have a return contender for the BCS title in the Crimson Tide. But unlike the Buckeyes, who lost both attempts to lift the crystal football, the Crimson Tide have a shot to make history — and win a second straight BCS national title, something that has not been accomplished in the BCS era. With a thrilling 32-28 victory over Georgia in Saturday’s SEC Championship Game, the Crimson Tide locked up the SEC’s automatic bid to a BCS bowl. The achievement will become official when the bowl pairings are announced tomorrow. In last season’s BCS title game, the Crimson Tide bested LSU in a rematch of a regular season game between the two teams that the Tigers won. Alabama made the championship game witho...

The Crimson Tide locked up a spot in the title game in Miami on Jan. 7 with a 32-28 victory over Georgia in the SEC championship game Saturday. Georgia QB Aaron Murray is leveled by Alabama’s Quinton Dial

Nothing has to be worse than throwing a horrific interception directly to Ha’Sean Clinton-Dixon and then getting absolutely leveled by a massive Alabama defensive tackle.  This hit was definitely helmet to helmet, but it wasn’t as much of a blindside hit as you might think.  If you look closely, Murray sees Dial at the very last second, but unfortunately for him it was too...

Tide to face top-ranked Irish for BCS title

ATLANTA -- Barrett Jones hobbled into Alabama's locker room in the bowels of the Georgia Dome, two crutches supporting the 6-foot-5, 302-pound All-America center's frame.
