There is great news out of Minneapolis today, and that news is that Andrei Kirilenko has decided to opt out of the final year of his contract with the Timberwolves. Kirilenko was due to make a little over $10M next season from the Timberwolves, but now he is deciding to instead test the waters of free agency. This report is coming from Darren Wolfson of 1500 ESPN. Kirilenko averaged 12.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1 block  per game last season in 64 games. When healthy, Kirilenko has been a really good player, but the problem has been he hasn’t been healthy all that often, averaging just 68 games per season over the course of his career with the Jazz and Timberwolves. The Timberwolves definitely were not excited about paying AK-47 $10M to miss nearly a quarter of the season. Look for the Timberwolves to use this extra money to make a run at O.J. Mayo, who they have been rumored to be interested in. Mayo has opted out of his contract with the Mavericks, and he too will be a free agent. —Ben Parker: follow me on twitter @nba_lord image from nba.com The post Andrei Kirilenko Will Opt Out Of Deal With The Timberwolves appeared first on Pass The Pill - Kings of Hoops.
