Eaton, who suffered a sprained left elbow injury midway
through spring training, has been progressing to make his return to the club.
The center fielder is 2-for-10 with a
double, a run scored and an RBI in two games with Triple-A Reno. Daniel Hudson,
Aaron Hill, and Willie Bloomquist are other notable Diamondbacks’ that are on
the diabled list.
He hit .259 with two home runs and five RBI in 22 games with
the D-backs in 2012. With the injury of Eaton, the Dbacks minor league depth
has been tested early throughout the beginning of the season. A.J Pollock has
been platooning with Gerardo Parra for the center field spot. The 25- year-old
center fielder has been highly regarded of in the organization. He has the
tools of the prototypical lead-off hitter, as well as a player who is “gritty”
on the field, which suits the style the Diamondbacks have approached this year.
