Found February 06, 2012 on It's Always Sunny in Detroit:
Like many of us, Gawain Johnstone started to become accustomed to the NFL by playing Madden video games. But unlike many of us, Johnstone bench presses 530 pounds and squats 850 pounds (see video below).

A 26 year old weightlifter in Australia, Johnstone has recently committed himself to a move to the United States to pursue a college education and a roster spot on a college football team. He spent three weeks in December visiting the midwest - meeting with coaches from Michigan State, Toledo, Eastern Michigan and Saginaw Valley State.

His trip was set up by former Eastern Michigan punter Martin Brudenell. Johnstone came away eager to put the wheels in motion for a return to the U.S. as a college football player. And it seems like Johnstone and Michigan State have a mutual interest.
"Coach (Mark) Dantonio came over and talked to me. … They talked about me enrolling for fall classes, coming back to walk on. I'm definitely considering it. Michigan State is one of the best programs in the country. ... (It) was mind-boggling, how beautiful the facilities were, how nice everyone was to me."
But, Johnstone has a few hurdles to cross - and you can imagine how tough hurdles are for a 6'2" 390 pound man.

He plans to take the SAT in February and will play American football in Australia with the Monash Warriors. And then in about two weeks, Johnstone will be working with John Leijtan, coach of the Australian team and a former coordinator for the Amsterdam Admirals in NFL Europe.

It may have been a sign that when Johnstone was in East Lansing in mid-December, the Spartans were preparing to play Georgia...in the Outback Bowl.
