Mark Letestu scored twice and Vinny Prospal also scored for the Blue Jackets, who moved into a tie for seventh place with Minnesota in the Western Conference with 51 points. Columbus has played one more game than the Wild and two more than the ninth-place Detroit Red Wings, who are three points back in the race for the final playoff spot. Sergei Bobrovsky made 32 saves. Marty Havlat, Andrew Desjardins and Joe Pavelski scored for the Sharks, who needed only to take the game to overtime to clinch a ninth-straight playoff berth. Hey Detroit - Play Like The Blue Jackets And You'll Be Fine

Didn't that feel good?  The Wings not only won, but won by scoring 4 goals.  FOUR!  Remember when that was our average per game?   Ahh the good ol' days.   Yesterday was a day when everyone played hard.  The kid line looked stupid fast and furious. Franzen actually moved his feet towards the net!  Abdelkader threw his body around so much I actually thought...

Blue Jackets continue to defy the odds, and belief

Admit it, you cant stop pinching yourself, and, seriously, who can blame you? It was March 1st, and the only things your Columbus Blue Jackets could claim were excellent effort and playing really good teams really tough. Jackets in must-win situation in San Jose

The San Jose Sharks have the best home record in the league, making their fight for home-ice advantage in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs even more important. Simply qualifying for the postseason would be an accomplishment for the Columbus Blue Jackets, though they haven't had much success in their trips to HP Pavilion. San Jose looks to boost its chances for...

Rangers Offense Stepping Up at the Right Time

From Patrick Hoffman at Sportsnet.ca: It appears that after scoring 18 goals in their last three games, the Rangers’ offence, without Gaborik due to his trade to the Columbus Blue Jackets, is coming together at the right time. With three straight wins and six points under their belt, the Rangers’ offence is keeping things simple, getting lucky bounces and finding ways to...

Stars-Sharks Preview

The San Jose Sharks have won a lot of games over the past four weeks to get on the verge of a ninth consecutive postseason appearance, but they've been unable to solve the playoff-hopeful Dallas Stars.
