Elmer Dessens already missed one opportunity, when he went down with an injury while the Mets were looking for someone to replace Igarashi. Had Dessens been healthy there's a chance he may have been chosen over Acosta. So far this season he's 3-0 with a 1.29 ERA and two saves.Blackley is a 27 y/o left hander who was once ranked the #63 prospect in BA top 100 in 2004, that same year Seattle would promote him to the majors. He would return to the majors in 2007 with the Giants but still carries an over 9 ERA in the majors. After a brief stint in major league camp he was assigned to Buffalo where he posted an over 8 ERA before being released. The Buffalo Bisons today announced that RHP ELMER DESSENS has been activated off the team's disabled list. Dessens was placed on the DL with a left hamstring strain on April 23 and missed eight games. source MiLB
