Powered by a two run home run off the bat of Yadier Molina, the Cardinals scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning off Marlins closer Heath Bell to push the game to extra innings before finally winning 8-7 in ten innings. While the home run by Molina, his eleventh of the year, would generally be enough fireworks for one night, a lineup card mix-up quickly became the story in the bottom of the ninth inning.
