8 a.m. ET: The Celtics will try to nab a few five-pointers in addition to their usual two- and 3-pointers Friday when they host the Bucks. Five-pointers? Bucks? Get it? All unfunny jokes aside, the Celtics will play in front of their home fans for the first time this season (preseason notwithstanding), looking to even their record. The Bucks will be opening up their season as one of the last teams to finally get on the court for real games. Brandon Jennings and Monta Ellis will be players to watch as the two high-octane guards begin their first full season together in Milwaukee's backcourt. The Celtics' "small" lineups, which got a lot of burn in Tuesday's season opener, might be utilized again on Friday. Join us for updates and analysis from the TD Garden during the game, which tips off at 7:30 p.m.

Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo Must Do More Than Post Empty Stats And Other Impressions From Celtics' Win Over Wizards

At first glance, this was a solid night's work for the Celtics' trio of All-Stars. Rajon Rondo, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett finished with reasonably strong statistics, and if the Celtics adhered to the mantra that any win is a good win, then everyone might have gone home happy. But none of those three played as well as their stat lines might suggest, and...

Boston Celtics want more defensive communication. Yeah, defensive chemistry matters too

Excepting a certain substitute guard’s outburst that had me pledging to name my first-born child “Leandro,” the coolest part of Game 1 to me was Paul Pierce being mic’d up on TNT. Once, he told Rajon Rondo to adapt because the Heat were all loaded up on one side. Another time, he told Rondo it was time to start playing. But the most telling moment might have been shared between...

Comments from the Other Side - Heat 10/30

Lots of hate for the Celtics as can be expected along with some gloating over Ray's performance.   They also do a lot of whining about the refs for a team that gets more than their share of the calls. They think Wade gets no respect from the refs? How about the fact that he was allowed to push off on every drive to the basket and get away with it, which resulted in a hard...

Comments from the Other Side - Bucks 11/2

Comments after losses are usually pretty depressing. I have to say, I kind of like Bucks fans. They seem like a decent bunch who have been used to cheering for a losing team and seemed quite surprised by this win. Not much hate for the Celtics like there is in a lot of fan bases either. So, in spite of the loss, these comments aren't all that bad. Hopefully tonight we get...

Happy Halloween From Paul Pierce, Brad Marchand & Providence Bruins

A.B. From family time to visiting hospitals to hanging at a bar – who doesn’t love seeing their hometown heroes dressed up for Halloween? And if Tom Brady could convince Gisele to wear something a little more sexy than this – my Halloween would truly be complete.

Game #3: Boston Celtics Locker Room Report

The always affable Rajon Rondo with the media after his 27th straight game with at least 10+ rebounds. One more such game and he’ll have the third longest streak in NBA history. 11-03-12 Rajon Rondo – Postgame – Locker Room Paul Pierce talking to the media after scoring a game-high 27 points. Bucks Spoil Home Opener 99-88

On Friday night the Celtics opened up their 2012-2013 season at home against the Milwaukee Bucks. Coming off a loss to the Miami Heat the Celtics looked to crack down on the defensive end and continue to execute on offense. Unfortunately neither of these things happened for the Celtics as they lost to the Bucks 99-88. The Celtics struggled from the start looking sloppy on offense...

Celtics secure first victory of season

WASHINGTON -- Boston, breathe easier. The Celtics are no longer among the NBA's winless thanks to their big stars and stingy late-game defense, though their first victory of the young season was hardly a breeze. Paul Pierce scored 27 points, Rajon Rondo had 12 points and 12 assists and the Celtics finally found their way to victory by outlasting the Washington Wizards 89-86...
