Former Louisville standout, Terrence Williams, was waived by the Boston Celtics earlier today.  Just when we all thought that Terrence Williams was in a good situation, Danny Ainge decided to blow up the Boston Celtics as we knew them.  Ainge obviously didn’t see Williams as a viable option in the rebuilding process of the organization. Williams has struggled to stay out of trouble while he has been in the NBA.  The most recent incident came this offseason when he reportedly pulled out a gun during a child visitation.  These charges could have played a role in him being released from the Celtics. It really is unfortunate because when he did actually play for the Celtics, he was a pretty good point guard.  But from a team standpoint, the Celtics do not need another point guard, now that Rondo is going to be back and healthy.  With Jason Terry, Courtney Lee, Avery Bradley and Rajon Rondo, there was not going to be much playtime for Williams anyways. Also if the Celtics were to keep Williams past this Sunday then $200,000 of his $947,907 non-guaranteed contract for the 2013-2104 season would have become guaranteed. I hope that Williams is able to latch on with another NBA team next season because he definitely has the potential to be a solid player in the NBA.
