Throughout the offseason, there have been talks that Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo could miss the first month of the regular season, he could be back at some point in December, or he could be ready to suit up for opening night. Whatever the case, head coach Brad Stevens is not interested in prognostication, as he told Tom Layman of the Boston Herald that he’s yet to hear a return timeline from Rondo.“I have never heard a timeline from him and the latest that I’ve heard from our medical staff is that he’s progressing well,” Stevens said at TPC Boston during the Deutsche Bank pro-am on Thursday. “Our staff has spent a little bit of time with him off site here as well as we followed up on his rehab when he’s been away. He will be back in town soon. He’s working. I know that for a fact. He’s working hard to get back as soon as he can and I’m sure he will.”The Celtics continue to play it close to the vest regarding Rondo. Now without Doc Rivers, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen, Boston is clearly moving forward as a rebuilding franchise. As such, they have no reason to rush Rondo, who becomes hands down the best and most recognizable player on their team, back from his offseason knee surgery.Follow @hoopsinjurynews

What to Expect From Brandon Bass in 2013-14

BOSTON -- In yesterday's edition of What to Expect, our panel of CLNS Celtics beat writers shared their thoughts on what they expect to see from Jeff Green during the 2013-14 season.  The general consensus seemed to be that Green is in line to have a breakout year on the offensive end of the floor, as all three participants predicted he would tally at least 20 points per game...

Stevens Will Let Celtics' Roster Dictate Style Of Play

Brad Stevens will adjust his system to the strengths of his players, instead of insisting that players fit the system. "I don't think style of play is defined by coaches,” Stevens said. “I think it's defined by who the players are. You try to fit with your players to the best of their abilities at both ends of the floor, while at the same time provide a framework...

On signing with the C's: "Growing up watching them when I was younger, of...

Stevens won’t put timetable on Rondo

The two main questions surrounding the Boston Celtics right now is when Rajon Rondo will return and when he does will they trade him? The Boston media has asked every member of the organization that they see when Rondo will be back and the answers have been all over the place. We’ve heard it could be soon. We’ve heard it could be December. One person who won’t put a timetable...

Chris Wilcox's primary goal is to return to the NBA for next season, but the veteran big man is also open to giving consideration to heading overseas. “I am open to going overseas,” Wilcox said. “At the same time, I would love to stay here in the NBA. If it’s something that I have to do, then I’ll do it.” It is unlikely Wilcox will return to the Boston Celtics.
