The Celtics started off this year's pre-season just like they finished last year's post-season - with a loss. The Ming-less Rockets disposed of the Celtics, 96-90. Unfortunately, with Directv blacking out the exhibition games this year, I wasn't able to see any of the game. Instead, I periodically checked the live gamecast. Yeah - not ideal. I sure am glad that I fork over 12.99/month for the Sports Pack just so I can see a black screen with a blue box telling me to call customer service. Seriously - blacking out exhibition games? I realize the economy sucks, but for ****'s sake, give us fans SOMETHING. But hey, at least I got to see Real Training Camp with the Celtics on Sunday (though there sure as hell wasn't much actual 'training camp' shown). That'll have to be my "fix" for now I guess.Anyway, it's hard to tell how the team looked, or if KG's knee is still attached to his leg (I'll assume it is for now). I'm sure the over-analysis has already started by most, scrutinizing every Kevin Garnett facial expression, body movement, and gate as if he were a dog going for Best In Show. So, with that said, I pretty much have nothing, other than that the Celtics' leading scorer wasn't even in double-figures (House, Davis, and Hudson each had 9), and that Perk had more fouls (5) than rebounds (3). I also heard that 'Sheed picked up a technical in this game, though I'm not sure since I wasn't able to see it. Those replacement referees must be tying to make a statement. The 0-1 Celtics next over-analyzed game is scheduled for Friday against the Knicks.
