According to ESPN radio Chicago's Jeff Dickerson and Michael Wright the Chicago Bears are set to release H-Back Evan Rodriguez after his second off-season arrest.  Rodriguez was caught up in college with off the field problems and the Bears chose to gamble on him anyway, and Rodriguez has since been arrested twice this off-season both times as a result of alcohol. The first arrest charges were dropped, but Rodriguez was arrested for disorderly intoxication for being a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over.  Rodriguez was subsequently arrested a second time less than two months after the first arrest for DUI while operating  motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content level, twice the legal limit.  When Rodriguez was selected in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL draft as a TE from Temple it was a questionable selection due to his lack of size for a TE and lack of blocking ability as an H-Back.  Those rumors were essentially laid to rest as Rodriguez performed admirably as a blocking fullback for the Bears, but failed to make an impact as a receiver.  The lack of offensive production was seen as a lack of utilization by the dreadfully in over his head Mike Tice serving as offensive coordinator.  The thought was with the arrival of Marc Trestman that Rodriguez would receive a chance to showcase his pass catching ability.  Two arrests have instead forced Phil Emery's hand and the Bears have decided to cut ties with him.  The Bears have also wasted no time in finding his replacement at fullback in signing fullback Tony Fiammetta who has been out of the NFL since the 2011 seasons.  Fiammetta is a 6-0 250-pound FB who played for the Carolina Panthers.  Fiammetta is a former fourth round draft pick of the Panthers who has played decently as a fullback in the NFL.  Rodriguez however is in clear need of alcohol rehabilitation and counseling.  For him to return to the NFL he will have work likely take enter a program for the next 30 days and then attempt to catch on at a later date.
