New Philadelphia Eagles head coach is still looking for an offensive coordinator to call his fast paced offense, but today Kelly is in Mobile, Alabama possibly trying to find a quarterback of the future to run that offense. Around The League is reporting that Kelly is definitely chit chatting and talking to any quarterback he feels could fit his system. Kelly first met with former Syracuse quarterback Ryan Nassib. “That was cool as hell,” Nassib told the Philadelphia Inquirer on Tuesday after sitting down with the newly-hired Eagles coach. Of course we should never make much of coaches and organizations meeting with players during the Senior Bowl.  It’s apart of the process that goes on in Mobile and at the Combine. Some of the other notable quarterbacks Kelly is expected to meet with include Oklahoma Sooners Landry Jones, N.C. States Mike Glennon, EJ Manuel of Florida State, and Zac Dysert of Miami of Ohio. Some say Landry Jones might be the best match with his skill set coming from an offense with some similarities, such as the no huddle, and spread formations. The question would be is Jones mobile enough to survive in the system, but I would have to think he’s more mobile than Nick Foles right now. Kelly has three or four choices here.  He can get Michael Vick to renegotiate his contract and go with the best athletic option available to him. Kelly can reach for Geno Smith if he’s available at pick 4 and hope he can run the system and play like a top five selection.  Kelly can also stick with Foles, and grab a more athletic system oriented quarterback in round two or 3 such as EJ Manuel.

Senior Bowl: Ryan Nassib's Rise

Ryan Nassib became of the the nationally known quarterbacks over the course of the 2012 season en route to breaking several Syracuse passing records. Now, at the Senior Bowl, he's got some final things to prove in the NFL evaluation process.

Ryan Nassib: Playing for Bills “match made in heaven”

Syracuse QB Ryan Nassib is someone that a lot of people have their eyes on in the upcoming draft season. According to reports, though, he has his eye on one team in particular. Nassib has said that he would like to re-join his former coach at Syracuse, Doug Marrone, in playing for the Buffalo Bills. In an interview with WGR (per the Bills official website), Nassib has said that it...

NFL Rumors: Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles interested in Syracuse’s QB Ryan Nassib?

One of the quarterbacks that is quickly rising up draft charts around the league is Syracuse QB Ryan Nassib. Several analysts are predicting that he could be off the board by the time the 10th pick of the 2013 NFL Draft come April. A strong Senior Bowl will only enhance his draft stock. In a year considered to be fairly weak at the quarterback position coupled with a weak free agent...

Ryan Nassib on Eagles radar at Senior Bowl...

Ryan Nassib is among the QB job candidates getting a long look from Chip Kelly and Howie Roseman and new OC Pat Shurmur this week at Senior Bowl practices and interviews. I like Nassib as a potential good fit for Kelly's system. But I'm biased partly because Nassib is a product of Philly-area high school football.           Nassib, the Syracuse...

2013 Senior Bowl: North Tuesday Practice Notes

Today was the first day we had two Optimum Scouting members covering an all-star day, which lead to some fantastic notes between myself and Alex Brown (@ABXXV25 on twitter). He covered quarterbacks, receivers, and defensive backs, while I focused on the linemen and watched running backs/linebackers. The quarterback picture became a bit more clear, Eric Fisher generates the much...
