College isn’t cheap, and as a current college junior, I understand the struggles of being a broke college kid. So when you get an opportunity to do something for a free year of school, you better take advantage of it. And that’s exactly what this Colorado State freshman did.
At the fall pep rally, Andrew Schneeweis got a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity – make a half court shot and your freshman year of college is free.
Talk about making the most of an opportunity. Colorado State isn’t the most expensive school in the country, but that shot saved his parents $25,000 dollars.
In an interview with The Coloradoan, CSU football coachJim McElwain said, “When this thing left his hand, and I was right there on the court, it was no doubt from the get-go. It was awesome.”

Given three attempts to hit the shot, the CSU student only needed one to seal the deal. Watch as he nails the shot and saves himself...
A Colorado State student received a full scholarship for the 2013-2014 academic year from several of the school’s coaches, but it was not your average athletic scholarship. Instead, Andrew Schneeweis earned the tuition by sinking an improbable shot during Colorado State’s pep rally at Moby Arena on Saturday night. CSU men’s basketball coach Larry Eustachy, […]
The cost of tuition at universities across the United States has been on the rise in recent years and has led many students to seek out creative ways to try and pay for it.Well, it appears the new way to pay for college is sinking half-court shots in exchange for free tuition.Andrew Schneeweis can certainly testify to this as the Colorado State freshman drilled an improbable shot...
