Celtics Green ...a boston celtics blog.:
Teams that are tanking for the lottery always want to beat the Celtics even though it will set their lottery chances back. But then they have the added bonus at the end that when they do lose it's ok because the ping pong balls are still there. Enjoy today's Comments...
I hate the Celtics I really do
The only thing that sucks about getting Marcus Is that it feels like we didn't even get a new player… they are seriously identical They even have the same tats! So weird...
The twins' #Suns jerseys will say "MORRIS" cuz it's a NBA rule to use surname only.
When the heck did that rule start?
Lol when the Nets had 4 players on their roster with Williams at one point
Williams passes it to Williams, Who shoots it, but misses, but Williams gets the offensive rebound and passes it back out to Williams who passes it to Williams at the top of the key. Williams drives into the lane and kicks it out to Williams, who is wide open in the corner. Williams shoots and, BOOM goes the dynamite!
Imagine problems with defensive assignments and rotations when both Morrises are together on the floor
Its going to be so much watching two players with Morris jerseys being lost on both ends of the floor.
I cant wait to see the opposition get confused on the fast break and have two guys take the same Morris.
Like that old commercial about the game between two teams of Shaquille O’Neal clones. "Shaq! Give it to Shaq! “And after seven overtimes we are still tied at zero!”
In my romanticized view of the NBA (which it doesn’t hurt anything for me to cling to, thank you—I don’t even buy tickets), the Celtics franchise represents what’s great and good (if anything) in this nasty league. I believe in Celtic Mystique even if there’s only limited substance behind it. I hate seeing the Celtics mired in mediocrity, and I don’t particularly like them to beat the Suns, but they must. They’re fighting for the playoffs and the Suns are only killing time until their likely redemption through the draft. Which a loss tonight can’t but help slightly.
Why do you like the Celtics? Just curious.
Celtic mystique; not Hollywood Pound for pound, the Celtics have had an even richer tradition than the Lakers and more great players (and probably fewer players who were jerks, if not in the eighties). And they aren’t Hollywood. When I think of it, it annoys me that fans in the eighties liked the Lakers better.
Resting Garnett? That is quite insulting. Sick 'em Dragic!
Blow the Celtics out and let Marcus play!
Sitting Garnett? Bunch of punks. We better win this.
10-0 Celtics, we suck.
So when we lose tonight, any chance we move up in the lottery ladder? Have any lottery teams won today?
Celtics picked a good night to rest Garnett I guess they knew it would be an easy win anyway.
Wow we suck. At least we have cool uni’s lol
We aren't getting any calls. None at all.
Do we ever? :(
I see Dragic more out of breath than I ever remember seeing Nash over the past few seasons
That's because Nash never broke a sweat trying to play defense.
These isos for Jermaine weren't very efficient when he was in his prime And they haven’t gotten better as he’s calcified.
Jeff Green has 13, WTF.
Terrence Williams is an awesome passer.
Yes he is. His problem is shot-selection and trying to do too much. Bad shots and turnovers, plus a poor attitude, have kept him from becoming the player he should be. But I love the skill set there.
Was that a legal play by bass? He drove his shoulder into beasley chest
It's not that I didn't think this was true before But man, Jordan Crawford sucks.
Is this 2004? Jermaine O’Neal is a beast.
Ok, but seriously he isn't a beast
Terrence Williams is trash, lol. So is Jonny Flynn, but he isn't in the nba anymore
All right I'm back. How bad is it now?
Green is abusing us.
I can't take this anymore. I’m leaving again, I just can’t watch.
Awful play for the Suns, our commentators are more focused... On ugly shoes and howie long.
Morris may be actually as dumb as he looks on the court.
That was a beautiful defensive play And by beautiful I mean abhorrent
I hate Jason Terry so much
Ok, just getting here, let me get this straight-- no KG, Jeff Green is playing C and has 24 and 6 and Gortat, one of the top 10 Centers in the league, has 10 and 6 Shoot me now
I wish we would trade for Fab Melo So we could have Marsh-Melo on the court together Smore!! Smore!!
I say stop the game. Mercy rule
I want to see Beasley at point, because I hate watching good basketball.
You Have Come To The Right Place, My Friend!!!!!
I think Marcus has now outscored Beasley
The Gorilla outscored Beasley. As did the kid who mops the sweat off the floor.
Dragic missed a ft thereby precluding a 20-10 effort; he did get 19 and 10 though.
He was going up against Bradley as well. Going up against on of the most annoying and disruptive defenders in the league an not getting much help from his teammates.
All right. Bring on the hated Spurs! Then we’ll see some twinsanity!
Twinsanity!! Pop and Timmay are shaking in their boots!!
Losing by 30 with no Garnett playing Oh we're a terrible team... But it's still our team.
No Rondo, No Garnett, No Problem. Suns being out played, out coached, and out hustled and they are showing multiple shots of Celtics fans in the seats.

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
But the way the 25-year-old has played in two games thus far for the Celtics — averaging 5.5 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists in 18.5 minutes — he is making a strong case to stay...
Boston Celtics star Kevin Garnett was heckled at Wednesday night's game at the Staples Center by a Los Angeles Lakers fan who simply shouted "Kevin!" over and over again.
ESPN microphones picked up the fan very clearly heckling Garnett at one point during the second quarter as Dwight Howard was shooting free throws.
Although not very creative on the fan'...
Many Celtics fans were relieved Thursday at 3 p.m. when the NBA trade window closed and Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett had not been dealt away. Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge, in a rare move, decided to play his current hand rather than trading key pieces for the promise of youth, a future or salary cap space.
It hasn’t always been so, though, and the thought...
I have been away from the internet since the trade deadline passed, but I'm sure there's an outrage somewhere because "Danny Ainge hasn't blown this team up" or that "Danny Ainge didn't make any big moves." (Reportedly, Felger was ripping Ainge apart yesterday, and I'm not shocked to hear that from someone who doesn't know anything about...
Jeff Green and his "I'm awesome and I know it" face.
KG might have gotten his first DNP-Old of his career, but that didn't cause the Celtics any problem as they have easily beaten the Suns 113-88 in their first post-trade deadline game.
A detailed account of the game is not necessary. We played awesome defense and that turned into great offense. We never looked...
There’s a report out of Washington, DC that the Celtics and Wizards initially agreed on the inclusion of Chris Wilcox in the deal for Jordan Crawford.
I can’t blame Wilcox for blocking the deal. One, he won’t get a chance at the playoffs in Washington. Two, waiving Bird rights could cost him money. [link]
The Larry Bird exception allows an NBA team to spend above its cap number...
Former Louisville star Terrence Williams is in day six of his 10-day contract with the Boston Celtics. Last Thursday, the final day that NBA teams are allowed to make trades, Boston sent center Jason Collins and the expiring contract of shooting guard Leandro Barbosa to the Washington Wizards in exchange for shooting guard Jordan Crawford. Considering Williams and Crawford are both...
Kevin Garnett's return did not get the Celtics a win
The Celtics came out of the gates strong, just like in Phoenix, before the Trailblazers mounted a run of their own. They lost the lead in the 1st quarter due to poor decision-making, some bad luck, and bad defense. But in the 2nd quarter, they had no one to blame but themselves. The offense collapsed...
The Boston Celtics sat Kevin Garnett Saturday and still easily defeated the Phoenix Suns -- thanks to Jeff Green.
The fifth-year forward dominated, making 11-of-14 shots, including three 3-pointers, for 31 points. He added a full stat line of seven rebounds, four assists, two steals and five blocks in 39 minutes. It was a dominant performance, but one that we've come to expect...
The Boston Celtics beat the Phoenix Suns 113-88
CelticsLife Game Recap
Players are graded on a curve
Brandon Bass: 6 Points, 6 Rebounds
He didn't blow up offensively like most of the other players on the team, but he did put in some effort on the boards. It was a quiet game compared to everyone else tonight.
Jeff Green: 31 Points...
Many Celtics fans have been wondering whether newly-signed big DJ White will be available for tonight's game against the Portland Trailblazers.
According to the Boston Herald's Steve Bulpett, White is in Portland with the team, but is currently unable to talk to the media until his paperwork goes through. CSNNE's Sherrod Blakely confirmed that White's paperwork...
Breaking news: The Celtics are shockingly looking for big men to fill the two roster spots they have! (Yes, I'm having fun with those who thought the Celtics made a mistake by not trading for a big yesterday as if the league abounds with them.)
Steve Bulpett has reported a shortlist of five names:
From today's Herald, big man names C's have discussed: Jerome Jordan...
PHOENIX (AP) -- Jeff Green gave Boston a sensational performance in his first start in nearly two years.
Green scored a season-high 31 points on 11-of-14 shooting and the short-handed Celtics routed the Phoenix Suns 113-88 on Friday night.
"I didn't have a different mindset," said Green, who missed last season following heart surgery to correct an aortic aneurysm...
Roma has announced a preliminary deal for Sheik Adnan Adel Aref al Qaddumi al Shtewi to enter its ownership group.
In 2011, a group of four Boston executives closed a deal to become the first foreign majority owners of a Serie A club, but Roma continues to seek more funding which could aid its plan to build a new stadium.
Al Qaddumi is believed to be of Qatari heritage although...
8:03: Tonight, the Celtics will conclude their time in the Pacific Timezone when they visit the Portland Trail Blazers. The Blazers, who are just 25-30, are a great 17-9 at home while they are just 8-21 on the road. Tonight will be a really tough one. In my opinion, it will be the hardest game to win of this whole road trip. They will have to start good and end good if they want to end up on top.
