Let’s assume for a moment that the Browns don’t trade both of their first round picks.  In fact, let’s forget about the fourth overall pick for a moment and focus on the Atlanta pick acquired last year in Julio Jones trade.

The 22nd selection has a lot of options.  But to me, the best option is to select Cordy Glenn out of Georgia.  This first round is loaded with talented offensive linemen and Glenn is one of the best.  He has been highly praised for his on the field play at Georgia.  He has very long arms and has the ability to play both the guard and tackle positions.  That flexibility could be attractive to the Browns.  The Browns need a young prospect to be a long term answer at the right tackle position.  I can't imagine the Browns will want to continue with the carousel of veterans that have been playing the position for the team in recent years.  And with two young guards on the roster, they would like to have options in case Eric Steinbach can’t perform.  Glenn could be an answer to both of those needs.  He could help solidify an offensive line that is already pretty good.

Believe it or not, Glenn could even help open up the offense.  Apart from being a good pass protector, Glenn is an excellent run blocker.  Whoever is running the ball for the Browns next season will certainly love to have him blocking front of them.

I’m sure the popular pick would be Michael Floyd or Kendall Wright or even Nick Perry.  But Glenn is a solid player who could do great things for the Browns.  You can never have too many good offensive linemen in my mind.  And if I guy like Glenn is there when you are on the clock, I think he’s a guy you defiantly have to consider.
