The Cowboys had a short week to prepare for the Raider’s game, but there was no excuse for the sloppy play across the board. The first team offense looked horrendous, and Romo was back to his same bad habits of holding the ball and taking sacks. What’s the deal with the Special Teams unit, its the same story every year, and tonight’s game just highlighted how bad they still are. We still have players taking the ball out from deep inside the endzone and we still have abysmal tackling. I am not impressed. Another 2nd Round Miss? It’s always funny when everyone over hypes players in training camp and then when its time to play, these same players disappear. If you’re looking for help from this year’s draft class you’re in for a rude awakening, but the guy that really has me baffled is TE Gavin Escobar. Escobar looks bad, he’s too finesse, and cannot block – he’s not a player. If Escobar doesn’t pick up his game this is going to be a wasted pick, and as it stands right now its another m...
  • Why would anyone be surprised except for the Cowboy sheep who believe everything Jerry shovels at them. 8-8 team going nowhere.
  • It's not the 1 Romo it's the 5 different head coaches. NO it's the 15 different RBs or the 7-8 different receivers. No the 8 or 9 offensive coordinators. Maybe the fans aren't good enough.

Cowboy watches birth on FaceTime

Cowboys cornerback Brandon Carr was unable to witness his fiancée give birth to his child in person, so he watched it via the online and mobile video application FaceTime.

Hold your horses on Cowboys’ George Selvie

The Dallas Cowboys picked up defensive end journeyman George Selvie to add depth at the position, and he’s already making a big mark. He impressed coaches leading up to the HOF game last Sunday, and Selvie decided to dominate Dolphins’ rookie Dallas Thomas all game long, but it’s too early to crown Selvie as the next great Cowboys defensive end. Everybody wants him to become...

Veteran guard Brian Waters still an option for Cowboys, salary cap issues holding team back

Six-time Pro-Bowl guard Brian Waters still would like to play for the Dallas Cowboys, but just like in New England, the holdup is money. Waters sat out the entire 2012 season while being under contract with the Patriots. It was reported the Patriots offered him $4 million to play the second season of the two year deal and he turned it down.

Dallas Cowboys: 2013 Game-by-Game Predictions

For many years now the Dallas Cowboys have had the pieces in place to suggest they were about to embark on a serious run to Super Bowl glory. Then they hit a wall. A wall so big that even this giant of teams cannot see past or over. Some blame individuals for the lack of success; this is harsh as when a team does have divisions, championships and Super Bowls, its always branded a team...

Is Tony Romo a better fantasy QB than Tom Brady? Fantasy QB rankings 2.0.

Tony Romo takes a lot of heat from fans and the media, some of it is justified but some is not.  When you look at his production, Romo is a better fantasy QB than people want to give him credit. You could do a lot worse than Romo as your QB.  The question is, will Romo have a better fantasy year than Brady?  I think it'll be very very close. Here's the list. ...

Cowboys have Travis Frederick play some guard

Cowboys rookie Travis Frederick started Friday night’s preseason game against the Raiders at center, but ended up playing some guard as well. Even though many people got on the Cowboys for drafting Frederick in the first round– including myself–he’s seems to be a smart and versatile player that could end up being a very good offensive lineman in the NFL.   Need NFL Tickets...

Oxnard Blog: On Parcells, Garrett, and keepin' it real

One of the more enjoyable aspects of Hall of Fame weekend was reflecting on the coaching ability and traits of Bill Parcells. The Hall of Fame coach did a nice job of talking about his career and thanking people, but he couldn't help but drop in a few of his philosophies of coaching that I so respected. And it is clear, by the way, that when it comes to Parcells, and the way...

NFL Injury News: X-Rays negative for Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Cole Beasley

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Cole Beasley caught a 15-yard touchdown pass in his team’s loss to the Oakland Raiders Friday night, but the loss isn’t what concerned the pass catcher. His foot injury was on his mind. In the third quarter of Friday’s game Beasley suffered a left foot injury which left the receiver thinking that he might have broken his foot. On Saturday the receiver...

Dallas Cowboys Training Camp: News And Notes, August 2-9

It's always a busy time when the first preseason games roll around, a chance to pull on the pads, play and hit in real game time situations as opposed to slowing down in training drills. The Cowboys had the added dimension of a trip to Canton to play in the annual Hall of Fame game. So in a busy week lets try and pick out the bones of a hectic week for the Dallas Cowboys.First...

Report: Cowboys targeting OL Brian Waters

The Dallas Cowboys are trying to shore up their offensive lineman, and are targeting former Chiefs and Patriots guard Brian Waters.  They tried signing Waters before reaching an agreement with former Jets guard Brandon Moore, who abruptly retired. Waters has made it clear “he would like to play, but doesn’t need to.” That’s French for show me the money.
