Found July 24, 2013 on NFL Trade Rumors:
Calvin Watkins of ESPN Dallas reports that the Cowboys have expressed interest in free-agent DL Amobi Okoye. Watkins adds that the Cowboys have no plans at the moment to bring in any linemen for a workout. Dallas’ defensive line has taken a few hits following the recent injuries to Tyrone Crawford and Anthony Spencer. Okoye, 26, actually spent time with Dallas DL coach Rod Marinelli in Chicago, so it makes sense that they would at least consider the idea of bringing him in. Okoye appeared in nine games last season and graded out as an above-average run-stopper for the Bears. We’ll have to see if they bring him in for a workout at some point in the near future.   The post Cowboys Showing Interest In DL Amobi Okoye appeared first on NFL Trade Rumors -.

Dez Bryant dominating in camp so far

Without much surprise it sounds like Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant has been making some big plays in training camp so far. Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com had the following report on Bryant from yesterday’s practice. Dez Bryant is just, well, it’s hard to describe. He beat cornerback Morris Claiborne on four plays in the one-on-one passing drill. In the team period, Bryant...

Bryant: Austin and I 'have the potential' to be the best WR duo in NFL

OXNARD, Calif. Jerry Jones, Tony Romo and Dez Bryant each spent time being interviewed by former Dallas Cowboys superstar receiver Michael Irvin on Wednesday. Romo, Orton, and Stephens: Breaking Down the Dallas Cowboys’ Quarterbacks

Football Schedule Flickr Page Tony Romo: No-brainer at this position. But as always, Romo enters the season striving to meet expectations that have yet to be fulfilled, despite finishing up his fourth 4,000-yard passing season in the last six years. (One of those two years he missed 10 games with injury.) Romo seems to always have to prove something to someone, and granted its not...

High-priced Carr accepts charge to boost takeaways

Brandon Carr knows the Dallas Cowboys need to create more turnovers, and that high-priced cornerbacks are expected to provide their share. Carr says he isn't putting pressure on himself in the second year of a five-year, $50 million contract with $25 million guaranteed. But he is expecting a big year. He says it's time to ''turn the corner as a player''...

Dallas Cowboys Coach Jason Garrett Probably First Coach to Use Pythagorean Theorem in Practice

If there is one coach that is going to be under fire this season even though the team owner says he's not in danger it is Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett. Perhaps Garrett realizes this, and that is why he is going old school to make sure his wide receivers understand the best way to run routes. So old school in fact that guys are going to have to relive some high school...

Dez Bryant is ready to pay the Cowboys back

Dallas Cowboys’ receiver Dez Bryant was said to have the most troubling background coming out of college. Via the Star-Telegram, Bryant says he is ready to move forward and repay the Cowboys for standing by him. It means a lot. I give a lot of credit to them,” Bryant said. “They stuck their neck out for me and they stayed with me. The time when I didn’t understand certain...

Carr accepts charge to boost INTs

Brandon Carr knows he is the high-priced cornerback for a Dallas defense that tied a franchise low for interceptions in his first year with the Cowboys. He understands Dallas changed everything but the players on defense, replacing coaches, switching schemes and putting a stronger emphasis on turnovers. Carr's cool with it - as in calm and seemingly confident. ''I...

Dez Bryant Wants To Repay Cowboys’ Trust In Him

Training Camp Profiles: Matt Johnson

As training camp is just getting started, I would like to do a quick synopsis of the Dallas Cowboys 4th round draft pick from a year ago, Matt Johnson. Johnson was drafted out of Eastern Washington and at the time, the coaching staff thought that he could have some impact in the secondary. Well unfortunately the injury bug that ravaged the roster got ahold of Johnson and he missed...

Jason Garrett Wants To Teach The Cowboys About Triangles

Taking the right pursuit angle is a pretty important thing in football, whether you’re talking receivers running routes or defenders trying to make a tackle. Still, leave it to Jason Garrett to make a point about it using the full force of his Princetonian intellect. After watching Miles Austin run a route in position drills during Wednesday morning’s walk-through practice,...
