Danica Patrick became the first woman in history to win the pole position of a NASCAR Cup Series race on Sunday when she won the pole of next Sunday’s Daytona 500 with a qualifying speed of 196.434. She’ll be on the pole next to Jeff Gordon, who finished second, next Sunday. The race, again, will be next Sunday.
Former NFL quarterback Donovan McNabb is a little unclear on this whole NASCAR thing:
Congrats to the Illinois native Danica Patrick on her win today. The first female to win in a big race with this magnitude. Big win

Poor Don. At least he meant his congratulatory tweet. Everyone else immediately made a pun of Patrick on a pole or worse.
Congrats Danica Patrick, but I saw many woman on the pole long before her at the Shark Lounge and Molly Browns in Daytona. #Nascar
