Last night Roy Nelson set a UFC record for the most punches absorbed without ever being TKOd or KOd. That’s absolutely wild considering Nelson’s relatively short time in the Octagon. Nelson has taken 487 punches to the head and now, it must be said, maybe it’s affected his decision making progress. Apparently Roy turned down Dana White and Joe Silva’s offer of a newer, more lucrative contract before his fight last night with Stipe Miocic, and now Roy is coming off a loss, surely less money and a beat up face.
At least he’s in the record books.
