PLAYERS: Justin Tuck
TEAMS: New York Giants
The amount of data crunching has been very large.  We have not completed and compiled all of the grades from all of the positions yet. While we are awaiting all of the returns from our staff, we coded every single play for many characteristics.  As an example, we tracked different types of pass plays, and slants jumped out at us for their success quantitatively- these small ball plays made a large contribution to Romo's success.  Dallas was 5 for 6 on slants, for 58 yards.  In an age where the NFL is about passing, the slant can move the team down the field.  It also tires and frustrates pass rushers because they cannot key off of 5 and 7 step drops. Early preliminary work by the grader of the Defensive Ends uncovered some trends which we will tie into the numbers this week... Boley Pic: Giants rush 4. Kiwi rushes from Rt DE spot. JPP and Tuck in the middle and Osi outside. JPP and Tuck get great push up the middle and Romo, because Kiwi kept his lane integrity, he had to ...

Giants, Tuck still disgusted over Week 1 loss

Justin Tuck hasn't been sleeping well the past five days. The two-time Pro Bowler and the New York Giants defensive captain is upset how the defending Super Bowl champions opened the season against the Dallas Cowboys last week. Tom Coughlin's team lost 24-17, but the score was not indicative of the way the Cowboys dominated. Tony Romo threw three touchdown passes. DeMarco...

Giants don’t plan on rushing Will Beatty back

According to ProFootballWeekly.com, the New York Giants don’t plan on rushing left tackle Will Beatty (back injury) back after Sean Locklear did a good job during last week’s opener. “The Giants will continue to monitor OLT Will Beatty’s back and won’t force him back into full time action until he’s good and ready. Sean Locklear started at left tackle in the Giants’...

Have the Giants found stability in the WR core for 2012?

Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz are the starters for the New York Giants, but history has shown that the Giants like to change wide receivers almost every year. Juan Eye On: Eli Manning

Eli Manning had a poor week 1 in the opening game against the Cowboys.  Throwing for 213 yards and 1 touchdown, look for Eli to improve as the year progresses.  As we have seen from previous seasons, he tends to start slow and then gets hot the second half of the season.

Giants Not Worried About Rookie RB David Wilson's Ego

The Giants pulled promising rookie RB David Wilson after he coughed up a fumble in the 24-17 loss to the Cowboys on opening night and never went to him again on offense. There appeared to be a moment where Wilson was crying after the fumble on the sideline, but he denied that was the case. Either way, you have to wonder about the psyche of a rookie who was benched in his first...

Victor Cruz: One-Hit Wonder?

Victor Cruz captured the hearts of many NFL fans with his electric, record-breaking play, entertaining touchdown celebrations and his genuine, humble demeanor on and off the field as a member of the Super Bowl-winning New York Giants last season. But just as quickly as this star was born, it could burn out all the same if he continues to play at a level so unpleasantly displayed...
