Leos back on the winning track It turned out to be a flashback Friday for the BC Lions. A pair of familiar faces led the B.C. Lions to a 43-29 win over the Edmonton Eskimos and the timing was perfect for Buck Pierce and Stefan Logan. Pierce took over for a still struggling Thomas DeMarco in the second quarter and Logan was a key factor in the awakening of the Lions dormant running game. Logan grabbed 121 yards on the ground, including a 54 yard scamper for a major, while Andrew Harris also had a solid game with 76 yards on 11 carries. If the Lions want to do anything in the playoffs, they need this kind of production from their backs. The Leos D was its usual stingy self and that sealed the deal. Now the win won’t make a lick of difference in the standings but it was a needed victory. Any sort of momentum before BC travels to Regina is sorely needed. Here are my week 17 game balls – Offensive Game Ball – Buck Pierce For as good a game as Logan had, Pierce was the man controlling everything and deserves top marks in his first game in Lions colours in years. The offense was sputtering under DeMarco and looked completely lost in the opening quarter against the Eskimos but Pierce took over and guided the ship. Pierce threw for 141 yards but used all of his receivers. He was accurate (completing 11 of 14 passing attempts), efficient (three touchdowns) and spread the ball around effectively. Pierce threw for 141 yards but used all of his receivers. Best of all, his play calling helped wake the running game up. For whatever reason, he inspired confidence in the line and the backs and I don`t think there`s any doubt he should be starting next week if Travis Lulay isn`t ready to go. Honourable mentions to Harris and Emmanuel Arceneaux, who both picked up two receiving touchdowns. Defensive Game Ball – JR Larose Like I mentioned earlier, the Lions D was solid as always and there were a number guys with big games. You couldn`t help but notice Chris Wilson, who picked up a pair of sacks and had probably his best game of the year. Cord Parks had a pick and had a team high five tackles and Adam Bighill had his usual strong game, also with five tackles. But it was Larose who had the timeliest play of the game. His pick changed the momentum and helped get the Lions going offensively. After over 100 CFL games, it was Larose`s first ever pick and it must have felt nice to grab it against his hometown Eskimos. Special Teams Game Ball – Stefan Logan Not only did Logan have a good game on offense, he also was a beast on the return game. He averaged over 20 yards on kick returns and close to 10 yards on punt returns and those yards were sorely needed by the Lions – especially in the first half. Again, great overall game from Dolphin, Steeler and Detroit Lion. BC finishes off the season next Friday when the Calgary Stampeders come to town and then it`s the Western Semi-Final – against either the Stamps or the Roughriders. The Lions will have to win out on the road to win the Grey Cup, tough but not impossible in the CFL. It all goes down next Friday starting at 7 p.m. on TSN. CLICK HERE TO CHECK OUT OUR B.C. Reggie Bush: Matthew Stafford fake spike was like Bush Push

If there’s anyone who can understand the feeling and emotion of winning in surprising fashion on a crazy fake spike play at the goal line, it’s Reggie Bush. Matthew Stafford mic'd up vs. Cowboys

Matthew Stafford's first 'wired for sound' was his gutsy last second game winning touchdown pass against the Cleveland Browns during his rookie season. 'The kind of thing that endears you to a city,' said Dan Miller, as Stafford went under center with a dislocated left shoulder. Miller's quote is one you should never forget, but just in case you did, Stafford...
