Celtics Green ...a boston celtics blog.:
Don't look now, but the Celtics D-League Affiliate has a chance to make their first post season appearance. Their playoff hopes center on tonight's game on the road vs the Erie Bayhawks. There are a couple of scenarios by which the Red Claws can make the playoffs.
Maine will make the playoffs for the first time if they can beat the BayHawks in tonight's final regular season game. They can also make the playoffs if they lose if Sioux Falls also loses to Iowa. If the Red Claws lose and Sioux Falls wins, Sioux Falls is in and the Red Claws miss out. It's also possible for the Red Claws to reach the No. 7 seed in the eight-team playoffsif they win their finale, Sioux Falls loses, and Fort Wayne also loses to Tulsa.
This will be the Red Claws 3rd straight game vs the BayHawks. They won 109-102 in a home game on March 28. They also won last night on the road 110-99. The game tonight is in Erie at 7:00 pm ET. You can watch the game streamed live here. With the Celtics off tonight, this might be a good time to catch Celtics rookie, Fab Melo in action. Fab is averaging 10.0 points(on 51.7% shooting),6.0 rebounds, and 3.2 blocks in 26 minutes per game for the Red Claws this season.

In the "New Big 3" era... or is it the Kevin Garnett era now? What are we calling it at this point? In the last 6 seasons since the Celtics have been good again, they have never really had a backup point guard. They've gone through a list of shooting guards who've filled in as ball handlers; Eddie House, Delonte West, Nate Robinson, Keyon Dooling, Leandro...
It's amazing how teams that are tanking and want to lose every game still get up for the Celtics. Maybe it's Byron Scott's Laker hate of the Celtics or years of getting beaten by them but they all hate the Celtics. And everyone hates on Tommy. But I love him, and don't want any announcer but him. I'm not so upset about this loss. We didn't have ...

BOSTON — Doc Rivers admits he does not watch a whole lot of women’s basketball. Between coaching his own team and closely following high school, AAU and college basketball thanks to his son Austin‘s stellar play over the last few years, Rivers spends plenty of time watching the men’s version of the game.
The Celtics coach did find it intriguing, though, when a reporter mentioned...
Jeff Green scored 23 points and Shavlik Randolph contributed with a carrer-high 16 points, but it wasn't enough as theCavaliers beat the Boston Celtics 97-91. Jared Weiss from CLNS Radio recaps the game in tonight's Three at the Buzzer.
Celtics fans can relax a bit before playoffs start the last week of this month as they know their team will be one of the contenders. The only question left is who they will face in the first round!Coach Doc Rivers stated that he would rather not play Miami in the first round but that his team will be prepared to face anyone! Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett re-affirmed this by saying...
In a show of bitterness, the Boston Celtics Jordan Crawford gave the Boston Globe a really hard time when Baxter Holmes attempted to interview him about facing his previous team the Washington Wizards on Sunday.
When the subject was brought up to Crawford after practice on Saturday he responded by saying ‘who?’

8:12: The Celtics had a very decent first quarter. They currently are ahead 28-26, but they should be doing better. They gotta beat these weak teams. Technically, they're doing that, but they need to do it better. This is getting ridiculous.
The Celtics beat the Washington Wizards in a game that featured the return of Paul Pierce (who sat the last game due to an ankle injury) and Kevin Garnett, who hadn’t played since March 8. However, it was Brandon…
Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce returned tonight, the Celtics moved Jeff Green into the starting lineup for good (and Courtney Lee to the bench, sorry Courtney), and the Celtics put together a quality win over John Wall and the Washington Wizards. A 19-3 run put the Celtics up big in the third quarter and the C’s cruised to an easy victory aside from a collective brain-fart by the...
BOSTON -- What storyline do you want to talk about? The return of Kevin Garnett? Garnett played 25 minutes and scored 12 points while grabbing six rebounds. How about Paul Pierce getting back in the lineup? The Boston Celtics…
The Boston Celtics defeated the Washington Wizards 107 to 96 tonight at the TD Garden. Pierce and Garnett both returned to the lineup, which gave the entire team a nice boost. This win was a full team win, as 5 players scored in double figures and 3 more almost did. Flat-out the Wizards were no match for the Celtics talent. KG was sharp in his return to the court, but the leader...

The Boston Celtics could be getting back their two top scorers at the same time.
There's a chance Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett will both return Sunday night at home when the Celtics try to defeat the visiting Washington Wizards for the seventh straight time.
Pierce sat out Friday's 97-91 loss to lowly Cleveland with a sore left ankle, but returned to practice Saturday...
