Asamoah Gyan maintains he is committed to his contract with Al Ain and has no intention of quitting the runaway UAE champions this summer.
The Ghana captain has dismissed reports he would seek a move to Europe during the next transfer window.
Gyan insists he was misquoted following an interview he gave after the Al Ain winning of a second successive league title last week.
“I was misquoted,” the 27-year-old told MTNFootball.com.
“In an interview I granted, a journalist asked about me missing the fans in Europe and my answer was like sometimes I do miss the fans.
“In Europe people come in their numbers to cheer their players but that is not what I see in the UAE and I think I was misquoted.”
Gyan has had a successful second season as his hat-trick last week won the league title for the Dubai-based side with four matches to spare.
