Giants running back David Wilson reversed field this afternoon apologizing to fans for hitting the “send” button on a tweet in which he called them “irrelevant.”
Wilson said his emotions got the best of him when he lashed out at fans on Twitter writing “Ayy to fantasy participants and (angry) Giants fans ur irrelevant to me!!! Nobody wants me to succeed more than ME!!! WATCH US WORK!
Wilson was responding to fans who tweeted negative remarks after he fumbled twice in the Giants 36-31 loss at Dallas on Sunday night.
“I saw people might have been getting the wrong impression of me so I tried to clear it up” Wilson said this afternoon. “Like I said all we got is the guys in the locker room and all our supporters. So when we go out on the field we want to make our supporters happy.”
He added “bad choice of words 140 characters you can make a lot of mistakes.”
