The San Francisco Giants welcome the struggling Los Angeles Dodgers to AT&T Park to begin a three game series beginning tonight.
After a series sweep against the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Giants are gaining momentum as the series begins with Barry Zito (3-1, 3.29 ERA) on the hill against the Dodger’s horse, Clayton Kershaw (3-2, 1.73 ERA).
Zito recorded a no decision on his last outing in San Diego and struggled as he lasted 3.2 innings and gave up six hits. His first three innings were lights out as the Giants had a five run lead until the 4th inning when the Padres drove in six runs.
He credited the Padres for hitting pitches he wanted to throw and tipped his hat to the team. “It’s tough to tip your hate, but you have to sometimes,” Zito said in an interview with MLB’s Chris Haft.
