Dale Earnhardt, Jr. led the way with a lap of 48.462 seconds in the final practice for the Good Sam Roadside Assistance 500 from Talladega. Rounding out the top five was Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards, Matt Kenseth, and Marcos Ambrose. Only 32 of the 43 cars entered in the race took part in the final practice. Kasey Kahne and Brad Keselowski posted the slowest time among Chase drivers, 24th and 25th respectfully.
