Jay-Z is taking the sports world by storm just as he did the music industry Hip hop mogul Jay-Z is taking the sports world by storm, and now he’s calling out the “old guard” in the process.  His current project launched a sports agent firm, called Roc Nation Sports, has already inked big stars like Kevin Durant and Robinson Cano (biggest prize of the 2014 MLB free agent class).  Let’s just say Jay-Z is proud of his work so far, and even called out Scott Boras in an upcoming album.  Boras had represented Cano until Jay-Z signed him away.  According to Darren Rovell of ESPN: Confirmed lyric in Jay-Z song “Crown”: “Scott Boras, you over baby. Robinson Cano, you coming with me.” Lyric 1st reported by @PSchrags. — darren rovell (@darrenrovell) July 3, 2013 Boras seemed unconcerned about Jay-Z either stealing his clients, or his music, according to ESPN news services “I’m a fan of jazz,” Boras told ESPNNewYork.com’s Wallace Matthews, “and my favorite musician is Bernie Williams. What other musician could play center field for the Yankees and win four world championships?” Jay-Z is certified to represent both MLB and NBA/WNBA players so far.  The ultimate verdict will come when he inks a client to a first big contract.  Then we’ll see if he can rep players as well as he can rap.
