The SEC West meeting of undefeated Alabama and 7-2 Texas A&M on Saturday has quietly developed into what could possibly be the game of the week in college football. Aggies' freshman quarterback sensation Johnny Manziel is responsible for a lot of the attention being garnered on the game. His on-the-field skills have impressed Alabama head football coach Nick Saban enough to compare him to 1984 Heisman Trophy winner and NFL great Doug Flutie.
“I’ve been around longer than most, and most of our players can’t relate
to this, but this guy reminds me of Doug Flutie,” Saban told reporters
during his weekly press conference in Tuscaloosa. “He’s not great big in
stature or anything like that, (but) he’s extremely quick and very
instinctive, has a unique ability to extend plays, and seems to know
when to take off and run with it.”
