2013 Season Off To A Great Start…JustinAllgaier finished seventh at Daytona International Speedway (DIS), his second-best February result at DIS. Allgaier will be making his 10th start at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR). Driver Rating…Allgaier has the highest driver rating, 92.2, at PIR among drivers who finished in the top-10 in the 2012 NNS championship standings and are competing full-time in the 2013 Nationwide Series. (Driver Rating formula combines wins, finishes, top-15 finishes, average running position while on lead lap, average speed under green, fastest lap, laps led and lead-lap finishes) TV Tune In Alert…On Friday, March 1, 8 p.m. EST Allgaier will appear on the Great American Country (GAC) Top 20 Country Countdown, along with Turner Scott Motorsports teammate Jeb Burton. Each will introduce countdown videos with host Nan Kelley. The show was taped at Daytona International Speedway on February, 24 and will re-air several times on Friday, March 1 and Saturday, March 2. Baby Makes Three…Justin and his wife Ashley announced this week that they are expecting their first child. The new addition is scheduled to arrive August 25. Say Hello…Justin will appear on Thursday, February 28 from 12 – 2:30 p.m. EST in Orlando, Fla., at the Commodity Classic – America’s largest farmer-led, farmer-focused convention and trade show. From the Crew Chief, Scott Zipadelli…“Phoenix [International Raceway] loses grip as the weekend goes. We practice in the morning and race in the afternoon after the track has had a lot of rubber laid down. It’s always a challenge getting the cars balanced right on the first pit stop, and then keeping up with the changing track the rest of the race. The race goes by fast and can have very long green runs, so pit strategy is very important.” Justin Allgaier on Phoenix International Raceway: “We had a great finish at Daytona [International Speedway] and Phoenix is one of my favorite tracks on the schedule. Its unique shape and challenging corners make it fun for me to try and set up the car to drive well in both corners. I’m looking forward to my second race with crew chief Scott Zipadelli and hope to bring home a trophy.”
