Last week Kevin Garnett became the first player in NBA history to accumulate 25,000 points, 10,000 rebounds, 5,000 assists, 1,500 steals and 1,500 blocks, a feat that shows his incredible all-around play since entering the league in 1995. With that said, it's not a shock to see Garnett hit another ridiculous milestone last night as he passed Sleepy Floyd for 50th on the NBA's all-time assist leader board, becoming the first player in the NBA to rank in the top 50 in points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks. I wrote about Garnett's greatness, and this particular milestone in general, about a month ago, but now he that he has accomplished it, let's take a look at just how special it is.
Points - Garnett has 25,029 points, 16th all-time.
Rebounds - KG has grabbed 13,689 boards, 12th all-time
Assists - The Big Ticket has 5,178 career assists, 50th all-time
Steals - Garnett has 1,721 steals since his career began, 17th all-time
Blocks - KG has 1,957 career bloc...

8 a.m. ET: Kevin Garnett will be the only Celtics player on the court this weekend, and no, that’s not because he will be the only one still healthy. Garnett is the Celtics’ lone representative at All-Star weekend this year, as Rajon Rondo, who was due to start at point guard for the East, is out with a torn ACL in his right knee and Paul Pierce was left off the roster.
Kevin Garnett has never been one to hold his tongue on the court. Known widely for his explicit language, Garnett makes it clear that he will never change that aspect of his on the court game. So now we have this video courtesy of The Big Lead. Check out the interesting commentary KG had after blocking a shot.
Kevin Garnett hasn’t been shy on his feelings towards Dwight Howard these days. Just over the summer he called Howard a clown, turns out Garnett’s loathing for the fellow Super Star player goes deeper.
TNT correspondent Craig Sager revealed in a radio appearance on 98.5 Toucher and Rich an interesting story from an All-Star Game two years ago. Courtesy Reds Army for the...
We learned this summer that Kevin Garnett views Dwight Howard as a clown and politely encourages him to paint his face during games. But now, we’re finding out that KG’s disdain for Howard runs a bit deeper than on-the-court quips. TNT’s Craig Sager shared this story during an appearance this morning on 98.5′s Toucher and Rich. Here’s my (loose) transcription: We had one...
The Boston Celtics hosted the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night in what ended up being a triple-overtime thriller. The Celtics managed to win the game 118-114 behind Paul Pierce’s 27 points.
While the game was full of highlights, perhaps the best highlight was when the oft vocal Kevin Garnett told Kenneth Faried to “get that sh$t out of her n$%#a”. He yelled it loud enough that...
Forget about the shroud of uncertainty surrounding the Boston Celtics thanks to trade rumors and injury concerns circulating this season. It seems as though the veteran ball club has done everything in their power to stave off the doubt and not only maintain their legitimacy in the Eastern Conference, but improve their NBA odds in the process.
With a five-game West Coast swing on...
Boston Celtics guard Rajon Rondo may be out for the season with a torn ACL, but that doesn't mean he's gonna just sit at home.
Rondo has stay involved with the Celtics,
The worst-case scenario for Leandro Barbosa‘s knee appears to have been confirmed. The Celtics guard, who came up lame during Monday’s loss in Charlotte, reportedly has torn the ACL in his left knee. Such an injury would end his season.
Kevin Garnett told reporters in the locker room after the game that the team was informed Barbosa would join Rajon Rondo and Jared Sullinger...
CHARLOTTE, N.C - Heading into Time Warner Cable Arena Monday night, the Boston Celtics were as hot as any team in the league with seven straight wins, handing the Heat, Clippers, Nuggets and Lakers all losses during that stretch.
Who'd have thought it'd be the lowly Charlotte Bobcats, the bunch with the worst record in the NBA, that would cool them off?
As if a blown four...
11 a.m. ET: Just when it seemed like things could not get any weirder for the Celtics, they upped the ante. Fresh off a two-day break thanks to the weekend’s snowstorm, the Celtics survived a three-overtime slugfest with the Nuggets on Sunday. They then promptly hit the road for a matchup in Charlotte on Monday night.
If the Celtics (27-23) have anything left in the tank, they...
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
If Celtics coach Doc Rivers elected to give Pierce and Garnett a night off when the team travels to Charlotte for the tail end of a back-to-back on Monday, he could be forgiven (heck, with no national TV broadcast...
