With Steve Novak traded and Chris Copeland likely to leave via free agency the New York Knicks are going to need a backup small forward. Two of their primary targets right now are former Knick Matt Barnes and Francisco Garcia. Both are veteran forwards who can score, play some defense and wouldn’t cost too much money, which is good because the Knicks don’t have much of it too spend. According to an NBA source, the Knicks are pursuing Rockets free agent small forward Francisco Garcia and former Knick Matt Barnes. The Knicks traded small forward Steve Novak in the Bargnani deal and are not confident they can re-sign forward Chris Copeland. The source said the 6-foot-7 Garcia, who was born in the Dominican Republic but grew up in The Bronx, has interest in joining the Knicks. He averaged 10.7 points in the playoffs for the Rockets, who didn’t renew his option. (New York Post) If the Knicks truly have a choice between the two I hope they go with Garcia. While I hate the Knicks live ...
