‘Kobe Bryant with the dagger!’ Literally. On a nostalgic day for NBA fans with the news that the Charlotte Bobcats will once again be called the Charlotte Hornets, Kobe Bryant decided to have some fun at a bad decision the Hornets made in 1996. Kobe tweeted out the above photo from his instagram (@kobebryant) and yes,  he’s rubbing in the Charlottes fatal mistake of trading him to the Lakers in return for Vlade Divak. To add insult to injury Kobe had this gem of a caption with the photo: In honor of the name change #13thpick #nbadraft #96 #freshface Kobe trolls so hard… via the victory formation

Guess who trolled the (Charlotte) Hornets?

The big announcement in the NBA today, and the worst kept secret, was that the Charlotte Bobcats would bring back the Hornets name to the city in 2014. The New Orleans Pelicans, left Charlotte after 2002 and took the name with them. Charlotte is reclaiming name with the change in New Orleans. But is it possible the original Charlotte Hornets would still be in existence had things...

Kobe Bryant Tweets Picture of Self in Hornets Hat in Honor of Charlotte Name Change (Photo)

Ah, the summer of 1996 seems so long ago. At this point it’s a footnote to a Hall of Fame career, but remember that Kobe Bryant was once (very briefly) property of the Charlotte Hornets. The story goes that the Lakers and Hornets worked out a trade the day before the 1996 NBA draft, and that Los Angeles told Charlotte to select Bryant with their first-round pick at the very last...

Kobe in Hornets hat? It did happen

Phil Jackson on coaching Shaq and Kobe: ‘Hardest challenge’ in 20 years

It is amazing how little Phil Jackson revealed throughout his twenty years of coaching. Once in awhile, there would be a snippet here and there in the media of the legendary coach trying to antagonize the refs, or prod one of his star players, but rarely did he admit to the difficulties of all the personalities he had to deal with, especially Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal. But...

Kobe Bryant, author? Mamba planning on writing a book

Kobe Bryant is tired of being the subject matter of others books. I guess this latest Phil Jackson book, “Eleven Rings: The Soul of Success,” has inspired him to pen his own book. Over the weekend, Kobe announced that he had a “big” announcement coming. Many thought it was retirement. It wasn’t, Kobe and his foundation, “The Kobe and Vanessa Bryant Foundation” is teaming...

Nike Hyperdunk 2013

March 2008 ushered in a new breed of basketball shoe as the Nike Hyperdunk debuted for the Beijing games. Kobe Bryant soared over a car in a viral film playing on the shoe’s minimal weight, while athletes, commentators, designers and sneakerheads marveled at the Hyperdunk’s futuristic, bold aesthetic. Designed by Eric Avar, the original 2008 Nike Hyperdunk seamlessly fused...

Kobe Bryant Plans to Spend Time With Dwight Howard to Convince Him to Stay

Kobe isn’t a dumb person, no matter what you think of Dwight Howard personally, if he leaves the Lakers, it will lessen their chances of winning next year. Next year, maybe all that Kobe has left, so it makes sense that he will try to convince him to stay. He has no real alternative  but to try to make it work with Dwight. Lakers are ready to hitch their wagon to Dwight for the...

Cubs Fan Dumps Beer on Husband After He Tries to Protect Her From Home Run (Video)

It’s a tradition as old as baseball itself — the old dumping-the-beer-on-the-husband’s-head. Oh, that’s not a thing? Well, someone better let Wrigley Field know. A Cubs fan doused her husband with a cold one Sunday afternoon in what appeared to be a completely unprovoked act of malice. As the wife explained after the game, however, the suds-dumping was actually in retaliation...
