Just days after Kentucky landed four-star quarterback Drew Barker, the Wildcats have now landed another recruit for the class of 2014. Kobie Walker officially committed to the new era of Wildcat football via his Twitter account.  Proud to announce my commitment to The University of Kentucky. #BBN #GOBLUE — Kobie Walker (@BeyyondBelief) May 13, 2013 Walker is UK’s seventh commitment for the class of 2014. He’s a 6-foot-4, three-star safety from Olney, Maryland. Although Walker played the safety position in high school, it’s likely that Coach Stoops will move Walker to linebacker. Kobie picked the Wildcats over Wisconsin, Oklahoma State and Syracuse.  With Kobie’s commitment, the Cats have moved up in the recruiting rankings. According to J. Rowland, Kentucky football recruiter from Rivals.com, the Wildcats are now ranked No. 15 for 2014.  Kentucky now has the NUMBER 15 recruiting class is the nation according to @rivals. Not sure UK has ever had top 15 class after 7 commits. — J.Rowland (@RowlandRIVALS) May 14, 2013 This means that with Drew Barker and Kobie Walker, the Cats’ 2014 recruiting class has now passed Auburn, Georgia, Clemson and Virginia in Rivals team rankings. Coach Mark Stoops continues to make a significant impact on the Kentucky football program.
