OXFORD, Ohio -- The No. 12-ranked Wisconsin men's hockey squad clawed out a 3-2, comeback victory over No. 8 Miami (Ohio) Saturday night. The Badgers (4-3-1) netted three goals against a hot goalie Saturday, dropping Miami to 7-4-1 on the young season. The Badgers jumped on the board first when Jake McCabe, the nations highest-scoring defenseman, added to his season total when he lit the lamp to give the Badgers their seventh power-play goal of the year. Miami came out with a vengeance in the second period, however, and netted a pair of goals in the stanza. But the Badgers fought back. Wisconsin earned the equalizer courtesy of Michael Mersch, who kept after a loose puck in front of the RedHawk net to eventually knot the score at 2-all. It was the 50th goal of Merschs career, making him the 50th UW player to reach that plateau. Like last season in UW's victory over Miami, Joseph LaBate was the hero, giving the Badgers a 3-2 lead with a goal with just 4:43 left to play. Meanwhile...
