The NBA released its annual survey of the leagues 30 general managers and to the surprise of no one LeBron James and the Miami Heat ranked at the top. T he GM's picked the Heat to win its third consecutive championship and James to win his third consecutive MVP and fifth overall. Those weren't the only categories James and the Heat dominated. When asked which player they would pick to start a franchise today, 89.7% of GMs picked James. He was named best small forward in the NBA by 86.7% of GMs, and placed third in the vote for best power forward in the league with 13.8% of the vote. James also came in second in the categories of best defender in the league, trailing only Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard, and best perimeter defender, behind Memphis Grizzlies guard Tony Allen. James finished first in the “most dangerous in the open floor category” at 73.3 percent, well ahead of Derrick Rose and Westbrook (10 percent each). He also was first in the “best finisher” category at 70 percent. Which player forces opposing coaches to make the most adjustments? James won that category with 66.7 percent, followed by Kevin Durant at 13.3. He also won the “most athletic” category at 56.7 percent, beating Russell Westbrook (16.7). So essentially its LeBron James and everyone else in the NBA at least from leagues general managers point of view.
