LeBron James may still have a few haters in Cleveland stemming still from ‘The Decision,’ but folks need to realize that the phenom also does a whole bunch of great things which may go unnoticed. LeBron’s most recent good deed is donating his shoes to an auction which will have all proceeds help the Newtown families affected by the tragic incident at Sandy Hook Elementary School. The auction closes on Saturday night at 9 p.m. EDT. You can get involved or learn more HERE. According to NBA.com: The sneakers he wore in Miami’s game against Washington on Dec. 15 – one day after the tragedy in Newtown, Conn., where 20 first-graders and six educators were killed – are up for grabs in an online auction that runs through Saturday. Proceeds will benefit the Newtown Memorial Fund, through the LeBron James Family Foundation. James’ signature is on one of the shoes, and an inscription of “vs. Wizards 12/15/12 Never forget!!” is on the other. The auction is expected to generate at least $5,000. You have to love it when athletes do great things on the court, and you have to love it even more when they do great things off the court. [Ball Don't Lie] Article found on: Next Impulse Sports
