Maurice Jones-Drew has proven to be a franchise running back for the struggling Jacksonville Jaguars. MJD led the NFL in rushing yards in 2011 with 1,606 yards, averaging 4.7 yards per carry. At first, 2012 looked like another promising year for Jones-Drew, registering 414 yards on only 86 attempts in six games, yet he went down with a Lisfranc injury, ending his season.Jones-Drew believes it's now time to take the next step, thus deciding to play against the New York Jets on Saturdady; it will be his first in-game action since being plagued by the Lisfranc injury. One shouldn't expect MJD to see a lot of snaps, as any starter shouldn't. Jaguars' head coach Gus Bradley stated that playing time will be discussed in a meeting on Wednesday night. In result of his injury, his fantasy football value has decreased, especially after the amount of points now two-year running backs, Doug Martin and Alfred Morris accumulated last year. MJD can also easily be overshadowed by the likes of Arian Foster, Marshawn Lynch, and not to mention, Adrian Peterson.MJD has attended most of the training camp sessions this summer, a positive sign that the 2011 rushing leader is healthy. One shouldn't hesitate on including Jones-Drew in a starting lineup in fantasy football. When he is healthy, he has proven to be a consistent, top-five running back in the NFL.With the Jacksonville Jaguars' right tackle position being an area of weakness in 2012, the addition of Luke Joeckel should give Jacksonville's offensive line a push; expect Maurice Jones-Drew to have a successful, 1,000-yard season in 2013.
